I love to swim!

Ainsley went swimming for the first time on July 4th and loved it. Can't you tell? She kicked like a little frog and paddled like a lab.

A star is born!

The sun is so bright! I need these super sunglasses to protect my eyes. They are kind of big for me, but I love the purple color. I guess I'll grow into them eventually. At least I can keep my eyes open outside when I have these on. I wonder why all those people at Palmer Park smiled at me and laughed and took my picture when I was strolling???

Ainsley is 4 months old!

Ainsley went to the pediatrician for her four month visit and she now weighs 11 pounds 14 ounces and is 23-1/4 inches long! She showed Dr. Voelker and everyone else how she screams when she is hungry, how she pouts when she doesn't like something you say (like Dr. Voelker saying her legs are short with thunder thighs or we may need to cut out a middle of the night bottle........she really showed her pouty face and stuck out her lip about that one! and Ainsley won, she can keep getting a bottle at night if she needs it since she has a little more growing to do), she showed her happy face when she likes what is said about her (that she can start getting some real baby food!), and she showed a different cry when she got her immunizations, but that soon subsided and she was happy again.

So, let's see how Ainsley has grown:
February 8, 5 lbs 10 oz & 19-1/2 inches
February 14, 5 lbs 3 oz
February 21, 5 lbs 7-1/2 oz
March 11, 6 lbs 11-1/2 oz
April 9, 8 lbs 14 oz & 21 inches long
June 5, 11 lbs 14 oz & 23-1/4 inches long

What is Ainsley doing?

Ainsley's accomplishment for the week is rolling over from front to back. She does not like tummy time! It won't be long before she can roll from back to front. She is already practicing. She also likes pulling her pacifier out of her mouth, and she is trying to put it back in but hasn't mastered that task yet. She is almost laughing out loud. She really thinks she's something when she arches her back and scoots with her heels and head. Got to keep two hands on her all the time!

Ainsley's Magazine Shoot

Here are pictures of Ainsley at one month and three months. What a difference two months make! Do you think she is growing? She hardly looks like the same baby. It's already hard to remember how tiny she was when she was born. She still has blonde hair. It won't be long before she is rolling over.

Ainsley is two and a half months old

My first trip to the French Quarter . . .

On Sunday, April 20, I had a lot of firsts! Not your usual firsts like laughing, cooing, crawling or anything baby like that. I experienced the New Orleans French Quarter! First of all, I went to Beau's baptism at St. Louis Cathedral. We saw the chalice that Pope Benedict gave to the New Orleans Diocese. Archbishop Hughes gave Beau a special blessing in addition to the deacon who performed the ceremony. (The deacon also blessed me after Beau's baptism.) We walked through Jackson Square then we walked along Royal Street and went to brunch at Brennan's. After brunch we went shopping at BEE Galleries on Chartres, and I purchased my first pieces of art. I got beautiful metal dragonflies to hang in my room. Finally, I went to see the Chicken Shack. Can you believe my daddy named that party place after me! Well, the sign had my initials on it anyway...... So I had a very eventful Sunday, and today I slept all day long.
